Carrying the Legacy Forward
Dear colleagues,
As we approach another annual meeting—and my final months as your President—I’ve been thinking about the enduring mission of the Contact Lens Society of America: to educate and equip contact lens professionals at every stage of their careers.
For seventy years, CLSA has been here to equip contact lens professionals—not just to do the job, but to lead the field. We've remained a trusted source of practical, high-quality education, committed to giving fitters the tools, knowledge, and support needed to thrive in a constantly evolving profession. That legacy is alive and well today, and I couldn’t be prouder of how we’re carrying it forward.
Our upcoming annual meeting in Oklahoma City is a perfect reflection of that commitment. With hands-on workshops designed for both beginners and experienced professionals, plus a full lineup of Fellow-level lectures, there’s truly something for everyone. We’re especially proud of the sessions being held at the Dean McGee Eye Institute—a chance to learn and grow in a professional clinical setting, working side by side with peers and mentors. And of course, we’ll be proudly welcoming a new class of Fellows, recognizing those who’ve shown outstanding dedication to our field. Whether you’re just getting started or have been fitting lenses for years, you’ll find education that supports where you are and where you’re headed.
As I look ahead to the final stretch of my term, I feel great optimism. One more issue of The EyeWitness remains before I pass the torch to the next President, and I look forward to welcoming him into this role. Until then, thank you for continuing to make CLSA a place where learning leads the way.
Warm Regards,
Dede Reyes, FCLSA
President, CLSA
