A Message From the President
Hello fellow colleagues and friends,
I just wanted to say thank you for the support you have shown CLSA over the last few years. We have had some troubled times and thanks to the efforts of many, we have come out on the other side.
Special thanks goes out to Terri Klein for holding the group together and showing great leadership.
As for what is coming next, I have to say, I am very proud of the board of directors and all the new and existing members that have stepped up and are willing to put in the extra effort to rebuild the CLSA into a bigger and better organization. We have a great mix of directors from all walks of contact lens profession, from OD’s to fitters to industry representatives, we have views that cover the growing industry and its educational needs.
I have always said CLSA is the greatest education society in the industry, and I stick by those word. So many of us owe our livelihood and careers to the education we received through the CLSA organization. My hope and driving force is to have that sentiment continue through the future generations of contact lens professionals.
CLSA is BACK, BABY!!!
As we move into the future, needs of customers and practitioners change. CLSA will continue to grow and change with those educational needs. Changes will happen and this organization will grow and flourish.
My promise to you, as the new president of this organization, is to do my best to bring CLSA back to its former glory and still allow for growth and change.
As we move into a more digital world, CLSA is changing, as we speak. Digital media, digital education and social media are all pieces of that growth.
As my commitment to CLSA is strong, I will ask that each CLSA member also do their best to better this organization. We are only as strong as our members.
Please volunteer to help grow this organization. For our more experienced members, do your part to improve the educational offerings, or reach out to become a mentor. For our less experienced members become an involved committee member or partner with a mentor to increase your involvement. If we each do a little, to the best of our ability, it makes us a stronger CLSA.
Sincerely,
Dede Reyes, FCLSA
President, CLSA
