Support the Future of Contact Lens Education
The CLSA Education Foundation: Investing in Excellence
Since its founding in 1984, the CLSA Education Foundation has stood as the charitable heart of the Contact Lens Society of America. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Foundation exists for one purpose: to support, strengthen, and sustain high-quality education for contact lens professionals across opticianry, ophthalmology, and optometry.
From hands-on training to national lectures, from scholarships for emerging professionals to funding for our most distinguished educational events—the Foundation helps make it all possible.
What We Fund:
- Educational Grants & Scholarships for CLSA members pursuing certification, training, and advanced credentials.
- Named Lectures & Awards that honor pioneers in our field, including:
- The Joseph W. Soper Award for Excellence in Education
- The Ken Swanson Merit Award
- The Kevin Tuohy Lecture
- The Keith Harrison Memorial Fund
- New Initiatives like the Timothy O. Koch Award, supporting the development of future educators and mentors in contact lens fitting.
These programs directly impact the future of our field—elevating care standards, inspiring innovation, and ensuring that the next generation of contact lens professionals is well-prepared and deeply supported.
Why Your Support Matters
The demand for skilled, certified, and compassionate contact lens professionals is rising. But education is expensive—and many of those entering the field face significant financial and professional hurdles.
Your tax-deductible gift to the CLSA Foundation helps eliminate those barriers. Whether it’s a scholarship for a student, funding for a speaker at our Annual Meeting, or support for a new CE course—your donation makes education accessible, equitable, and excellent.
